About two years ago now, the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles contacted Angels Gate about curating a site-specific artwork for the La Salle Lofts. We put together a process that looked at several Southern California artists and ended up commissioning AGCC Studio Artist Slobodan Dimitrov to design a photo-based labour mural. I’ve been watching Finishing School in action as they transform half of Gallery A into a “hot zone-themed wet lab” and the other half into a multimedia cluster for their installation, workshop and performance, M.O.L.D. that starts Sunday.
