Monday, March 22 @ 10 AM there will be a special meeting of the Arts, Parks, Health and Aging Committee at City Hall to discuss the Department of Cultural Affairs current budget. Tom LaBonge is the chair of the committee and he has been a great supporter and friend to the arts in LA [...] We’ve been working on two really exciting exhibitions at Angels Gate that open this Sunday (2-4pm, come on down!). The first, Sojung Kwon’s Planning A Year: Mondays and Sundays, is a solo show in our main gallery that will display all the documentation of the daily “Actions” carried out on Mondays and Sunday [...] I know it’s been quiet here lately, but I’m too busy to write well, and I’d rather not write poorly. Department of Cultural Affairs head Olga Garay confirmed to KPCC that 33 out of 70 full time employees at the department are out.
