Pavich’s Pizza = Frighteningly Awesome

Too tied up to recap yesterday’s template & bondo adventures, but lunch was too amazing to not briefly mention.

The above is a roasted pork sandwich from Pavich’ Pizza in San Pedro, a Croatian take-out joint, which in its brief lifespan has attracted nothing less than legendary status – everyone talks about it, [...]

Ragnarok Supply Studio Report #3

So we finished shaping the blade yesterday, catching any small derivations and/or errors in the shape. We took about a quarter inch off the tip and re-angled on edge of the point to make it more perfectly match the other. That’s me above doing a final bit of shaping on the blade. We’re [...]

Ragnarok Supply Studio Report #2

After the clamps came off, it was time for rough shaping.  This consists of three steps, rough cutting and notching with electric chainsaw, knocking out the remaining positive notches with a hammer and then working the surface with a hammer and chisel to take down what you can of the excess.

The installation, Ragnarok Supply, is a sort of “seas rising apocalypse boutique with swords for frost giants fighting [...]

He now claims that he was [...]

RIP Captain Lou Albano

Captain Lou Albano represented everything that was comical and awesome about professional wrestling, back when Andre the Giant still roamed the land instead of on light poles.  Any like every other child of the Reagan Era, I came to love him via Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun video, which gave me [...]

Short Hiatus – Busy

Be back soon – kind of busy between the office and moving into my new studio. Enjoy the above PS22 Chorus covering Velvet Underground and Nico’s “I’ll Be Your Mirror”. Thanks to Rich Polysorbate for the link. Rich is looking for witches and/or warlocks for a Soundwalk 2009 this weekend – hit him [...]
