Your Bright Future @ LACMA. LACMA explores contemporary Korean art with this focused presentation of twelve artists – Kimsooja, Bahc Yiso, Do Ho Suh, Choi Jeong-Hwa, Gimhongsok, Jeon Joonho, Kim Beom, Koo Jeong-A, Minouk Lim, Jooyeon Park, Haegue Yang, and Young-hae Chang Heavy Industries. I was at the opening on Wednesday, and this is really a don’t miss contemporary exhibition from LACMA – I’m interested to see how LA audiences react to this show, which at first glance seems somehow raw and strangely flavoured, which is a very good thing. I have mixed feelings about some of the individual works, about the exhibition as a whole and I think there’s a lot of novel dialogue to be had around this show. Performance Storage Piece by Evan Cleaver and Olivia Sandoval, based upon a script by Haegue Yang will take place at 2 pm on Sunday.
