Edith Abeyta and Nicholas Klemek Bananas @ 2nd Floor Gallery. Recent Post-Post-Apocalypse collaborators Edith Abeyta and Nicholas Klemek have joined forces to celebrate and explore that most delicious of fruits, the banana (I just ate one, and damn, it was good). This show has two openings, one during this Thursday’s 1st Thursday Artwalk in San Pedro (6-9 pm), and the other on Saturday night (May 9, 7-10 pm). Edith has a banana mold making related set on her Flickr, if you need a little taste.

Knifeandfork – MOCA Grand Prix @ MOCA Grand Avenue. In their final Engagement Party appearance, Knifeandfork will enable participants to channel Pole Position as they race remote control cars through MOCA’s permanent collection. Their performance last month, Trying the Hand of God, which enabled participants to reenact Diego Maradona’s legendary soccer goal, was 101% awesome. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served. Starts at 7 pm and is totally free. Bring your own racing helmet and jumpsuit.
