Given how disruptive the layoffs and elimination of positions at the Getty seems, I figured that the parking fee increase would be the least troubling aspect of the Getty’s budget woes. But it looks like there’s a lot of opinion out there, from Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Fire bringing up J. Paul Getty’s own words to remind us and the institution about his intention that the museum be truly accessible and free, including parking, and this excellent post from LA Observed that gathers a slew of reactions and links.
