Judith Hoffberg, 1934-2009

Many of us in LA (and far, far beyond) will miss Judith Hoffberg, a constant presence at artists’ book-related events in LA. I was introduced to Judith through my good friend and artist book enthusiast, Jean Clad when she curated Metaphorical Books at Angels Gate in 2004 and Judith came down to see it. After meeting her, I came to realize her near omnipresence at scholarly conferences and other opportunities for the consumption of idea.  I only knew Judith for a short time, but like everyone who crossed paths with her, I knew and appreciated her as a tremendous voice of art world authority and scholarly professionalism..

Michael Buitron has a really great tribute to Judith over at Leap into the Void.
