It’s official, Idiocracy (in its way, possibly the most important movie ever made, I shit you not) is on it’s way. I have a lot of lefty friends who are all up on the fascist aspects of our current government and political system. But they’re way, way off. We’ve headed down a darker road, where the president is a frat boy whose idea of conduct at the Air Force Academy graduation is to engage in chest bumps with his fellow bros. A government for idiots, and by idiots.

I’m so glad there’s a technical term for this situation, but I totally prefer idiocracy.

The graduate asked the President to do it and the President agreed to make one of the men going off to defend our nation happy on his graduation day.
The irony here? Had the President turned him down out of respect for the Academy, the left would be slamming him for not even taking a little time to make the graduate happy.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. He decided to go for it.
Bush chose to participate. I wouldn’t criticize him had he refused – didn’t he promise to restore dignity to the office? He’s the one who raised that bar.
This has nothing to do with either left or right wing politics, it has to do with how the president chooses to present himself to the public.
I was in the same squadron as the guy participating in the chest bump. Good friend. And you aren’t going to find yourself a smarter guy.
