Ghost Buildings in Bangkok

When I was in Bangkok, I was totally mystified by a scattering of ruined, abandoned midway through construction, almost dominating the skyline with their apocalyptic presence. I never really figured out what the deal was, and surfing Curbed LA yesterday, I spotted this link to the above bit of Wall Street Journal video on these abandoned towers. It’s brief, and I really wish the video had some more skyline shots – when you see the buildings in the context of the sprawling city, it’s a scene that’s hintingly, hauntingly familiar of the abandoned urbanscape of Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
