It's usually half assed or welded to a pathetic ethos of art as therapy. I found the work in the show really visually engaging, both because of the context of its creation and the visual weight and presence of the work. There's a kind of honesty about the context of Keiko and Dennis' work that gives it a weight and substance. Yeah – I’m usually incredibly skeptical about work of this type.
